As our NLP Specialist, you’ll be involved in conducting research in both state-of-the-art NLP methods and applications of standard NLP knowledge. You’ll put these through testing in order to be able to generate proofs of concept that can be applied to a variety of business-specific use cases.
It’ll be your responsibility to use existing language models for inference and search for new cutting-edge AI techniques that will generate new results with the aim of producing scalable and high-performing NLU models. You’ll be involved in a variety of NLP-related projects, some of which may relate to the chatbots we currently design.
Within this role, you’ll take on training to become proficient in AI processes, and work with the current team to share ideas and challenge thinking. You’ll therefore need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, and to be self-directed and a forward-thinker.
Your responsibilities
- Build conversational NLU models and training data sets
- Pre-process text data for various downstream tasks
- Extract relevant information from text data for analysis
- Conduct research to determine which state-of-the-art models/methods are best for our use cases, this may include altering existing models or re-thinking about how to apply them
- Lead the development of ML products and models from inception to production
- Maintain and expand your knowledge of ML/AI and current technology through training opportunities, conferences, webinars, etc.

Your skills
- Degree within a technology, AI, mathematical or equivalent course
- A passion for data, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Python (preferably) or other ML-relevant languages
- Understanding of the technology concepts behind NLU/NLP technology
- Deep interest in learning about new technology and techniques in the AI space
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to present complex problems to an audience
- Ability to work with others who have different technology-awareness levels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Great attention to detail
Your skills
- Experience in building training data sets and NLU models on Microsoft LUIS, IBM Watson, Facebook WIT, Amazon Lex or Google Dialogflow
- Knowledge of PowerBI and SQL
- Experience with RASA
